General Information

Fourth Floor Surgery is a modern surgical practice, specialising in trauma, orthopaedic and general surgery (upper GI, laparoscopic surgery, melanoma, soft tissue sarcoma and breast cancer). It occupies contemporary designer rooms in the Mater Private Clinic, part of the Mater Health Services complex in South Brisbane.

The surgery draws on the expertise of Dr Simon Journeaux (orthopaedic surgeon), Dr Matthew Carmody (upper GI and laparoscopic surgeon) and Dr Chris Allan (melanoma, soft tissue sarcoma and breast cancer) and Dr John Radovanovic (orthopaedic surgeon). Fourth Floor Surgery remains committed to providing surgical excellence for both operative and non-operative management of all their patients.

Nicole Slaughter—Practice Manager

Nicole holds a Diploma in Practice Management and has administered both general and specialist practices for over 10 years. She is a member of the Australian Association of Practice Managers. Nicole maintains exceptional knowledge and skills through ongoing professional education and training to ensure the best outcomes for the practice patients, specialists and staff. Nicole enjoys the challenge of working for three seperate specialities in one practice and is responsible for coordinating the efficient management of the practice on a day-to-day basis.

Deborah Hackwood and Mary Harward—Front Office Staff

Deborah and Mary keep the front desk running efficiently and ensure all patients receive an efficient, empathetic and friendly service. Deborah has worked in radiology and allied health practices and Mary in nursing and specialist practices. Both have outstanding organisation and communication skills.
