Dr Ali Kalhor

Dr Kalhor is a qualified, Australian trained orthopaedic surgeon treating conditions of the shoulder, elbow, knee and trauma. He was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons in 2017 and became a Fellow of the Australian Orthopaedic Association.
He later undertook subspeciality training in sports, knee and upper limb surgeries in Canberra with Dr Kevin Woods and Dr Maurozio Damiani.
Specialising in the management of complex shoulder, elbow and knee related conditions and arthroplasty, he also has a particular interest in reconstructive and trauma surgery. Dr Kalhor practices privately at Mater Private Hospital Brisbane and Mater Private Hospital Springfield in addition to his public appointments at QEII Jubilee Hospital.
An enthusiastic researcher, Dr Kalhor has been involved in extensive research in the field of orthopaedic surgery and participated in the establishment of Iran’s premier orthopaedic research centre prior to moving to Australia. He also attained a Master of Engineering by Research degree from the Queensland University of Technology in 2013 (under the supervision of Professor Ross Crawford), and was awarded the prestigious Royal Australian College of Surgeons’ Neville Davis Prize in 2013 for his extensive work on osteonecrosis.
